Performance Features
Under the hood, the 2026 Equinox returns with a turbocharged 1.5L 4-cylinder engine producing 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. This familiar yet efficient engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) in FWD trims and an 8-speed automatic in AWD models. Towing capacity is up to 1,500 lbs when properly equipped.
Fuel economy remains competitive with an estimated 30 MPG combined, though final EPA numbers are pending.
